I always play melee in other MMOs, but for some reason or another I simply can't vibe with any melee in this game - a large part of why is I find they all have so much going on I spend more time worrying about my next button and not the next mechanic.
I've tried DRG and SAM up to 80. I vibed with SAM until tsubame-gaeshi showed up, then it flipped around to suffering for me. The extreme rigidity of its rotation sucks a lot of the fun out of it. DRG was far too long and cumbersome to really enjoy personally, as well.
For reference, I have MCH/DNC/RDM/BRD at max, and I really enjoy all four of them. I really enjoy how flexible they all feel rotationally, but it seems like melee is a whole 'nother beast.
Are MNK or NIN any better in that regard? Or is it just a case of "melee ain't for me"
