TL;DR We are having a wedding inside NA Fanfest and need someone to officiate.

Hello fellow adventurers! I have been playing XIV since 2014 (right around patch 2.3), and my fiancée fled WoW and joined me on the adventure sometime during the Stormblood patches. We've been together for almost 10 years and have been adventuring together for most of that time.

Around the Endwalker Fanfest, we came up with the idea of attending the next Fanfest and getting married there, at the show. We brainstormed ideas but couldn't commit to plans until we knew for certain where and when it would be, and then if we could score tickets.

Well, we did indeed score tickets, and now we are deep in the middle of planning this out, and we need a few things from other people to make it work.

First, we need guests. Our general plan is to have an impromptu wedding ceremony inside the Anaheim convention center on Saturday, 4/25, the second day of Fanfest. Time and location will be determined at Fanfest based on the event schedule: we need time to scout out a location inside the building and finalize a setup. We plan to pass out simple invitations at the convention, modeled inspired by the in-game Eternal Bonding invitations. We would love for all who are present to take part in this joyous event. It won't be long, won't require any special commitments other than the time dedicated to the ceremony, and of course would be free. Photos, videos, and social media sharing will be encouraged.

Second, and more importantly, we are trying to make this an official wedding. To that end, we need an officiant to conduct the ceremony for legal purposes. We will have completed all the necessary steps to get the California marriage license ahead of time, but we will need someone who is ordained to conduct the wedding. We are writing a script and planning the ceremony out, so the officiant would simply need to review the script and ceremony plan prior to Fanfest, show up at Fanfest when we finalize plans, conduct the ceremony according to the script, and then sign the papers with us after the ceremony (moogle outfit/pom not required but encouraged).

If you are interested in being part of this memorable event, and especially if you would be open to serving as the officiant, please DM me or send an email to fathelchevalier@gmail.com so we can discuss this further. If you aren't ordained, but serving in this role sounds interesting, we can facilitate the process of becoming ordained (it takes a couple of hours and a small fee, which we would cover).

If you are wanting to participate in the ceremony but not officiate, I am positive we could use all the help we can.

TY, Fathel and Sorocan
