Honestly, it's beyond time for this change.
I can't see how adding more plates would do anything other than change the UI itself.
That would be 29 plates in total, double what you have now.
It would honestly just make things so much nicer to play around with.
Alternatively I would much rather see Glamours saved to the Gear Set, just like how Layered works in Monster Hunter World.
You go to the Dresser, you take your current Gear Set. You pick your glamour pieces and dyes. And save it.
Then while you are out in the world, that Glamour is all that is ever shown. You can only update it at the Dresser.
All it seems like it needs is a check for when your character loads in somewhere. Currently it displays your current equipment with or without glamour, and updates each time you change your gear.
So why couldn't it simply have a branch in front of all that.
If you have a Glamour Gear Set saved, display this, otherwise display current equipped gear.
I know it's probably more complex than that. But it still seems like it should be doable. And there are over 40 gear sets when you have all the jobs. For combat jobs, you can have two Gear Sets per most jobs, due to the way Jobs/Classes are set up.
That's a ton of ways to play around with glamours that is just being largely wasted.
