We Have Relic, Why Not Mythic Questlines?

So, to start out, for those not in the know, a mythic weapon in ffxi was a hardcore version of a relic weapon. They were, in some cases (more so nowadays), the pinnacle or achievement in weapon form and took a crazy amount of work and patience.

Ok, now that I have that out of the way... why not put a "mythic" questline in for those of us who want a more challenging experience, than the standard, usually extremely casual and easy, relic questline, or just simply killing the newest 8-man extreme. A weapon that we could, like the relic, continue to build on throughout an expansion, even possibly beyond. They could even be the continuation of the relic from the previous expansion(s).

There are many people on these forums who have had many great ideas over the years that could be used for this. Like farming items from extreme versions of dungeons, which has been asked for again and again. Even old zones like Eureka could be given an extreme version. Heck, we could even have alternate versions of the zones we already have, like aether corrupted versions of La Noscea or Thanalan, that have some fun lore to explain their existence. With maybe Nero as the lead NPC, this would also give a character that people want more of, a more prominent role in the story.

This would use fewer resources as the maps are already there and could even breath new life into niche content. Mythic treasure maps, for an example. Extreme FATEs in all these interesting areas of the maps that are completely unused, Churning Mists and Dravanian Forelands have a myriad of these as just an example. Gathering items from all these different areas or requiring certain kills, could make for a great time.

And if SE really wanted to add a new zone or two, there are a crazy amount of underground structures that were in version 1 and even map areas they could use as inspiration if they still have the old lore notes for them.

It could be a way to incorporate some more difficult content into the game for those who would really love it, while using minimal resources.

Anyway, thoughts?
