It's been 5 years since Shadowbringers.
With 7.0 they gave us a graphical update and now Viera can wear some hoods.
The hoods we are able to wear are all ones that hide hairstyles completely.
(This post is mainly about Viera, as Hrothgar has different heads, but it's probably a very similar situation.)
Hairstyles in this game have 2 versions, one when wearing nothing/small accessories etc. and one for when you wear an actual hat so that the hair fits. It's basically either a squished version or with very fluffy hair and ponytails, the ponytail is hidden under that cap.
Viera players have no problem with ears clipping through hats, the same way they clip through hoods that we already have available, so the main issue is the hair not having a hat version in the metadata.
Devs, I am BEGGING you, either make the Viera hairstyles hat compatible (17 for female and 17 for male, you don't even need to do them all in one go.) yourselves or hire someone temporarily to do it. If you post a job listing, trust me you will get more than enough applicants. Hell, I'm sure there are many who would do it for free, myself included.
Every patch you add new gear that we cannot wear, even actual job gear we can't wear. It's not a hard or expensive fix.
I've added images to show examples of how other races hair works compared to Viera.
