Hoping this post doesn't get deleted because I'd actually like a discussion on this :x

Am I the only person who thinks that extremes should be taken out of mentor roulette because sprouts are entirely unprepared for the raiding scene as a whole? Sprouts I see commonly don't even know the inns and outs of their own kit yet, but mentor wants to have me believe that they're ready for Shiva ex? It may be old, and we're overgeared and beyond for it, but that doesn't help jack when these little baby players don't understand simple mechanics yet.
Sure, you could say as a mentor it's my job to teach them, but I'm signing up for 3 babies at most in a dungeon run where I can explain mechs for a dungeon boss and 50% of the time we get it first run because they're usually nice, simple, and obvious. All ex trials are is mechanics over and over, a portion of which don't explain themselves and require previous study- even in some 50's ( Leviathan, Ramuh, even Mog's pretty hard synced).
I really feel that they should make a PF for it. People WILL come and help them for the sake of it, and there ARE people who love that synced experience and will do it with them. But that shouldn't be an involuntary thing to do. They're hard enough when people actually understand their job and know the fight on a basic level, who decided that this was good content to give in a roulette for sprouts??
And no, I don't think it's the sprouts' faults, but honestly what's the mentality behind this? Am I crazy for thinking that tiny baby sprouts should be treated as such, and people shouldn't involuntarily join that? I wanna help new players, which is why I run mentor... just not like this for the next hour.
