So I’m leveling NIN right now and really enjoying it (and I must be doing something right because I keep getting DPS comms). However, last night after clearing Bismark, someone posted a macro at me, explaining something I’d been doing wrong.
I’ve been playing FFXIV via Steam remote play lately, playing on my laptop from my desktop located elsewhere in the house, and sometimes the quality isn’t great. When I set up my bars, I read up on the Ninjutsu abilities to try and figure out the best way to use my Mudras, and I misread Raiton as having a potency of 600, vs. the 800 cumulative potency from the Doton DoT. So I was spending my Mudras on Doton, even for single target.
But then I saw this PSA macro, which explained my error, and after confirming that I’d misread the tooltip, I incorporated the change to great effect! While I know I could have avoided this in the first place if I’d read a guide online, I’m the sort of person who likes to figure things out for myself (to the point where I prefer going into fights blind).
So to the person who hit their macro button, thank you for helping me out!
