For a starting point my boyfriend got me into the game. He's been playing for years and knows almost everything about the game. When I ask somethings though, he usually tells me to try everything and not stress out. I'm just looking for some advice from other sources and haven't met any friends in game yet to really question anyone else.
I've been playing for about a year, save the 3 month break mandatory for loss of ISP. I started as a GLD-PLD and finished ARR with that class. I went DRK next but also leveled RDM, BLM, SAM, to 50+ where I mostly swapped between DRK and RDM through Heavensward.
I'm having trouble finding what I feel is the best class for me. I love tanking, but am quite socially awkward and honestly don't take rude comments well. Getting overly flustered and confused which usually takes all of the fun away and makes me recede into a DPS class for a while.
I've never been a healer or ranged DPS. I do have trouble using the keyboard as most of my gaming finesse was spent on FPS games and Darksouls series. I usually use keys 1-6 and shift+1-6 for my combos and have a separate hotbar to click other things I need like rampart or anything else that I am not using frequently. I sometimes use a controller when the nerve damage in my left hand is bothering me too much to use my keyboard.
I'm looking for personal opinions on generally fun and easygoing class recommendations. Something with a simple rotation that's hard to mess up under high stress. I understand I've already done quite a few classes. But it's hard to pick something else to sink my time and Gil into unless I'm sure it's worth it when I could just use any of my other classes. I'm just not enjoying it as much as I was and was hoping for some input and advice.
