I'm curious if anyone has any stories on being kicked or seeing someone get kicked from a duty or party for a stupid reason. I got curious after seeing another thread where the OP completely misunderstood a situation and thought someone should be punished.
The best story I have is from back in Heavensward. Before Void Ark was out, before even A4s had a world first clear.
I was practising A2s in party finder. At the time, I mained Ninja and anyone who has done that fight knows that it's a lot of trash fights where AoE attacks help a lot. Back then, Ninja had the worst AoE of any job in the game (except PLD who only had Circle of Scorn and no GCD). Because of this, I would volunteer to be the gobwalker user. The enemies didn't stay alive long enough for Doton to be worth using.
The gobwalker doesn't do any damage so after the first two enemies, whoever is in the gobwalker stops doing DPS because they have all the gobwalker mechanics to do. Anyway, after a few wipes - none of which were due to failed gobwalker mechanics, the party leader quits and subsequently, others follow. Shortly after I leave, I get kicked from the party. I sent a tell to the party leader asking why I was kicked to which he responded that I got kicked because my DPS was too low.
I still remember the person's in-game name to this day because of how stupid the reason was.
