So for background, I started this game before Christmas. I was wary as I don’t have a lot of experience with online games let alone something as massive as this. Kept hearing good things so thought I’d give it a go. Downloaded the free trial, made my character and started to play. Boy oh boy was I overwhelmed fast. The more I played the more confused I got, to the point that I was about to quit I was getting so frustrated. Then I posted in the discord asking what I was doing wrong. I was kindly assured that I wasn’t doing anything wrong and that it’s just a different learning curve from a single player offline game. Reassured I went back in. Still was getting frustrated and was just about convinced I was never going to enjoy this game. Then I had an epiphany. Maybe I was playing the wrong job. Decided to start fresh so yesterday I created a new character (Miqo’te instead of Elezen), decided on the archer job instead of the gladiator I’d been before and started from scratch. BEST DECISION EVER!!!! I’m already past the level my gladiator got to and I’m having so much more fun. I’m really glad I decided to give it another chance. Huge thank you’s to everyone who said I should stick with it. You were right.
