Okay so, I did this years event, and it was decent but felt off to me. It wasn't bad but it felt too... female centric, as odd as that sounds.
Okay, so I'll explain, since I know Little Ladies Day is supposed to be about the "ladies". But past event's have done a nice job of making the event feel all inclusive for both males and females. Giving just as much focus on the Seneshals and their devotion to their ladies. But I felt this event glossed over that.
The event itself was fine, until near the end. I know the event was about the two girls and their friendship, and that was fine. But the event itself takes place in a children's ward with at least one prominent hyuran male child. And the event mentions the celebration is for all of the children. However, when it came time for the surprise for the children, I was a bit hurt to find out the boy(s) got nothing. I was expecting them to get either the monocle to be mini-senechal or the flowers like the girls, since it's not gender locked, but nothing, he isn't even in the cutscene past the children's initial return.
If there were no male children in the initial quest it might of felt different. The repeatable quest, however, does give the right feeling, with the elezen boy from a previous christmas event, acting as a Senechal. But it just feels to me like they dropped the ball a little. If it was adults it might of felt different. But to me it sorta felt like when you don't get a child a gift at the christmas party, just because they aren't part of your family, even though you know they will be there. Sorry a bit of person experience there.
I know I'm probably being overly critical over a silly event quest, but I just thought I'd share my thoughts and ask what others thought as well. I mean it's a game and these are fictional people, but if this was real, that would of been a rather insensitive thing to do in my opinion.
I personally still hope for the day when there is a Little Ladies Day event focusing on a lady or ladies who want help repaying their Senechal(s). My thought is a group of sisters who wanna get something for their younger brother who always dotes on them. Meanwhile, you keep the brother occupied with finding the perfect gift for his sisters since they are always so kind to him. It would show that this event may be called Little Ladies Day, but is really about both parties acting out their affection for the other.
