Its basically, ive heard, a book that gives you information about new things in ffxi after an update, like food info, latent effects, weapons etc....thats why it seems that the jp players know how to unlock all of these things so fast, cause they can buy the book on it >.>
 
No one has said anything about the Tavnazian flag!

I think there are more interesting things to come... there is also a Jeunonan flag in the .DAT files
 
Bah... I just translated some of the readers comments from the Amazon site...

"This definitely has a lot of information, but too much of it is wrong"

"This version is full of bad info. I get the feeling like they just skipped over everything I want to know."

So not worth it, probably.
 
Anyone have any idea why JP get all the answers/tips/tricks before us NA? I mean, it may sound dorky but w/e. I played Yugioh card game with friends, they have a NA version and JP version of the cards and you can't use both in a tourney. I've translated a LOT of the cards in the JP set and they have a LOT better abilities than the NA versions lol I just think it's messed up that they get all the good stuff before us...
 
I assume the simple reason is that they believe it would not be profitable (enough?) to release in the US or wherever. As much as we want this information, your average NA player isn't going to spend money to discover just how much enmity+ dorado sushi gives ^^.

I wonder if Aqua or Fulio or Aili have a copy of this...

I think Benny is right. That's the same reason they take JP cars, create a new company to sell them in America (i.e. Honda makes 'Acura'), steal about 100 Horsepower from each model (the agreed upon power 'limit' between car makers in Japan is 270 Horsepower... in the USA, the same 'altered' models rarely tip 200HP) or don't sell the cars at all (Nissan Skyline, anyone?) The USA has higher 'standards' (each person thinks they're the best) so 'sport' cars such as Hondas are sold under the 'luxury' company Acura. The USA has more speed limited roads and a greater focus on road safety; the extra horsepower isn't needed. And alas, the USA is 'family oriented', so who needs a sporty two-seater? Grab a minivan!

Drawn out analogy but the idea is the same. Methikns that Square thinks their 'elite' band of JP players are the only ones that'd be interested, or interested enough to pull a profit. Not only would they have to sell them here, but they'd have to hire a crew to translate everything, publish, buy licenses, etc. for sale first. However, I STILL WANT THEM!
