The Live Letter black mage changes are taking away huge parts of what has been the job's identity for the past 10 years, without adding anything to replace them. No long cast times means that prepositioning is not rewarding, using your triplecast at opportune times is not rewarding, adjusting your rotation to maintain enochain if something went wrong isn't rewarding because there is no risk of dropping it.

This affects the moment-to-moment gameplay of black mage much more than the DRG rework changed dragoon, for example.

For 7.0 YoshiP himself mentioned how "a platformer game with no bottomless holes is a less stressful game, but also a less fun one. We want to re-add some stress to FFXIV". Yet these changes are removing every "bottomless hole" there is, in the interest of making BLM more appealing to people who don't play BLM - even though there are 20 other jobs to choose from. Not every job needs to be fun for every player.
