The Thirteenth Aka The Void!

So, I just wanna dump some thoughts I've had. And some points I'd like to hear some takes about.

we know the void is one of the sundered shards of our star. We know that the voidsent are former denizens of the thirteenth, transformed by the Flood of Darkness. We know that voidsent can be summoned from the void through hollows or other rituals. we know that there is a heirarchy of power among voidsent.

Voidsent and Sin Eaters

Now, the tragedy of voeburt involved using the research of Beq Lugg to over-stimulate the dark-aligned elements of the soul which transformed the victims into voidsent- though not really. These "voidsent" aren't from "The Void" so better to just call them demons for now. There are a couple connections I can make here:

-First: Sin eaters! The ones spawned from humanoids all vary in form. Kinda neat. Kinda like the demons. Even so far as being whitewashed voidsent models in many cases. Does that mean that if the flood of light actually went all the way all living things would have become sin eaters? And then would it be similarly possible to perform summoning rituals for denizens of the first? Have Empty-mages to be equal opposites to Void-mages?Still on the sin eater tangent, we see that a decent number of voidsent still have personalities and/or identities. Much less so in sin eaters. To my recollection the only ones that displayed any kind of individuality were Tesleen, who had only recently been forgiven and so still retained some memories, if not her identity. Then there's Titania, which was a primal that was corrupted by excess light aether. And lastly there's Innocence, who was somehow made a lightwarden before birth and was more or less human until he came unhinged under pressure but was still completely in control of his identity and sense of self.I wonder if this trait of sin eaters to just follow the will of greater lights has anything to do with the stagnant aether characteristic of the process? Because the imbalance that is involved in tempering stagnates the aether and *suppresses the sense of self*. And the fact that the next stage after tempering in terms of primal aether absorption is a physical transformation I think there's something to that. Another fun note being that the people and animals that turned into sin eaters instead of just being killed by them. The difference being not only being killed by "powerful" sin eaters but that the sin eaters in question bathed or injected its victims with light-aspected aether!

-Second: Black Mage Story! We see in the lvl50 quest finale that the predecessors of the beast tribe black mages were twisted into a foul abomination through reckless studies in the dark arts. I think this may have been a similar case to Voebert, a drastic shift in aetheric balance toward the dark elements like fire and lightning. We also see similar things in the stormblood black mage story (I think) where the antagonist's followers are given runes and incantations that boost their spellcasting potency at the cost of usually killing them. I imagine it's also like the dark magics being used in voebert, stimulating the soul for more powerful aetheric manipulation. But in this case the stimulation doesn't result in a transformation to a demon. Maybe this situation wasn't so much an aether imbalance as much as it was causing the overstimulated aether to stress and break the vessel around it. I suppose a major difference is also the fact that physical transformations usually occur as a result of aether absorption and thus the overflowing aether serves as a catalyst for altering a physical form. or something like that

Jeez this is longer than I thought... maybe I should do more posts on specific subjects?
