The Final Phase Of The Skysteel Tools Feel Underwhelming

Having finished both Carpenter and Miner as of this moment, I can say that this final stage has left me somewhat disappointed. The increase in stats compared to fully melded Aesthete tools is not good.

For crafting tool melding, it is common to maximize control and leave a single slot for cp. With an Aesthete tool with two control materia 8 and 7 each, it beats out the Skybuilder tool by 18 control. The Skybuilder tools have 46 more craftsmanship, but that amount isn't helping me do anything more efficiently.

Gatherer tools are a similar tale in which the stat upgrades given to the tool do not allow for say hitting gathering breakpoints much more easily.

As a side note, I don't like that they removed the ability to dye them. Sure you can hardly see their color when the glow is out but I don't see the need to remove that bit of customization.

In summation, the Skysteel tools to me feel almost pointless as someone who is heavily invested in crafting and gathering. The glows look nice, and I'm fond of some of the models. But I feel the effort involved, especially considering the final step is expert crafts, were not repaid. Personally I would quite like if you could adjust stats manually like you're able to for battle relics, or at the very least make it undoubtedly better than the Aesthete.
