This post will have two parts to it, first is the suggestion, second is the reason behind it in italics.
Anyway here's another black mage's post for you to read or ignore if you want.
1. AF/UI Timers & Cast Times
AF/UI reverted back to 15s, cast times reverted as well.
Potency and enochian reverted
AF/UI & cast times provided a level of tension that good game design needs, high risk-high reward, in my opinion the current tier of content did not warrant the changes made to either of these, and in fact serve as a detriment as they only take away much needed tension. Potency and enochian also reverted because of the increase in cast time
2. Ley Lines & Retrace
Ley Lines reverted back to 30s duration
Retrace introduced at lvl 52
As with cast times above I do not believe that current content warranted the reduction to duration for ley lines, retrace being introduced earlier is to make it much more forgiving for newer BLM players
3. Thunder & Sharpcast
T1/T3/HT1 & T2/T4/HT2 reverted back to endwalker mechanics
Thundercloud brought back
Sharpcast brought back at level 10, 30s cooldown, 2nd charge level 60, cooldown reduced to 20s level 80
The current mechanic of thunder spells being tied to switching between phases is clanky and makes it annoying when faced with 2 targets, the endwalker version worked great and would make the spells far more usable alongside sharpcast. Introducing sharpcast earlier especially before the first dungeon and just after Thunder 1 is to get newer BLMs familiar with it and their relationship
4. AOEs
F2/HF2 & B2/HB2 base potency increase to 90/130
F2/HF2 provides enhanced flare as a stackable trait that get used up per flare cast
HF2 provides 1 astral soul
Flare provides 2 astral souls
Current F2/HF2 & B2/HB2 are going unused as it is optimal to use transpose instead, it is my hope this'd change the rotation to HB2 > Freeze > HF2 > HF2 > HF2 > Flare > Flare > Flare Star. This is not an original suggestion btw I have seen many other black mages make this comment
5. Paradox
Grants astral fire/umbral ice 15s
Fire paradox has a %60 to grant firestarter
Cause of the reversion to AF/UI, because of the reintroduction of sharpcast
Those were my thoughts on what changes I wanted BLM to have, I did not go over everything as I was either unsure of what to say or just like it as is.
