Thank You To The Sastasha Player That Taught Me How To Tank!

I’m fairly new to FFXIV, and the only other two MMOs I’ve ever played are Wizard101 and World of Warcraft (where I play DPS and only do dungeons/raids with an irl friend)

Last night I was playing through the main story on my Gladiator and got to Sastasha. I didn’t realize I was a permanent tank role until too late so I didn’t have enough time to figure things out. A bit into the dungeon, one of the DPS players spoke up and asked me if I was new to to tanking, to which I explained yes and that I was also new to the game (on PS4 as well, so painfully slow typing on my end). Instead of getting impatient and kicking me out, he taught me which of my attacks to use to pull groups and every time I managed to do a successful tank-pull-thing he let me know.

I apologized for being slow and not doing any research, and tried to tank as best I could for the rest of the dungeon. Nobody died and after the boss I ended up getting two player commendations (which I think is good?)

I just want to say as a newbie player and newbie tank, I really, genuinely appreciate other players being patient and helping me get used to being a tank for the first time. It means a lot, and I hope I can get the role of a tank down pat in future dungeons!
