After playing WoW for about 5-6 years and testing many, many other MMORPGs in that time, I finally decided to give FFXIV another shot since A Realm Reborn. I must say, it was the best gaming decision I've made in a very long time.
New players are looked down upon in nearly every game in existence, and as a game-hopper, I'm almost always a noob. However, FFXIV is the only MMO I've experienced that caters very well to new players, and even rewards veterans for doing so. I believe this plays a big part in the incredible quality of FFXIV's player community - easily the most friendly, helpful, and accepting of any MMO I've ever played.
I'm still very new (only just graduated to BRD), but everyone I've met in-game has been friendly and helpful at every turn. Thank you guys so much for fostering this wonderful community. I can easily say it's encouraged me to stick around, even through the upcoming release of Shadowlands for WoW.
