We all know about the MSQ improvements but no one's talked about the characters/objects limits improvements.
Before this patch, even on maximum "character/objects" setting the game would not show all the Player characters in the vicinity. Now however they actually worked on the game's engine to show everyone at Limsa or Eulmore; haven't tested it in A trains/s ranks yet but it probably shows more than it did before 5.3. I also notice my fps doesn't drop where it normally would (large crowds/alliance raids). The game engine's definitely been optimized. Anyone else noticed these changes?
The game is definitely being improved, this bods really well for what we'll get in 6.0. The next step should be to use the high quality shaders and physics engine in GPose. Gpose also seems to have a really good version of anti-aliasing. If they can make the game look like how Gpose looks it'll be a big step up. But yeah, as far as performance I'm glad they updated the engine and how it handles characters, it definitely means they're starting to remove the memory limitations/restrictions in the game (ARR flying for example).
