I last played when 2.0 was released, rolled a paladin then, and I’m up to level 25 on a new toon now. I love tanking in this game. In other games it was fun to dps, but I just love having the responsibility of keeping a group alive (just kidding, that’s the healers, and I always give you the recommendations at the end of dungeons). With that said, tank anxiety is a real thing. Trying to cater and feel out a group on the fly, especially playing with folks on their 5th job who just want to speed through. So I go fast. But I’ve really yet to figure out the little intricacies of what I need to know about each class. Hell, I can’t even figure out which symbols are what yet, and god forbid I have time to examine other characters before everyone wants to run off.
So share with me, please. You can tell me one or two things about your job, you can give me a list of all 42 of them or whatever we’re at. Which melee do I need to keep a static position for? Which healers do I need to be most concerned about? Astrologians, what do you even do? Etc. etc. Would be cool to learn from you guys, since I have so many things to juggle as a tank (2nd time around) I can’t seem to pick up on it myself.
Help your boy out so he can become a better and more empathetic tank.
