Hey Girls/Guys from Eorzea,
i already read so many topics googled so much about it and had it myself, the ctd-error.
After not beeing able to fix this via the following points i hope to help ya out with the later explained options.
So here is what i did but didnt fixed it at all:
-full clean install of windows (windows 10 for me)
-clean install of FF:XIV
-clean install of graphiks driver with DDU
-disable every gameoverlay (Steam,Discord etc.)
-closed not needed programms
-ingame windowed/fullscreen switch, lowered graphics, from DX11 to DX9
And now 3 things i did wich helped for me till now:
1. Check out your windows event viewer:
Windows Key - Type: event - now open the event viewer - if u see the error with id 455 cause there is an folder missing.
Now we navigate to the folder till the missing part:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\config\systemprofile\AppData\Local
There we creat a new folder: TileDataLayer
In the folder "TileDataLayer" we create: Database
The error should be gone now.
2. I deinstalled my grpahics driver with DDU
In my case it was Nvidia driver and this time i installed the Studio version instead of the Game Ready driver.
3. In the german forum someone told me he found a windows upadate fix, wich helped him so i installed it manually too, cause there is no automic way to install it.
Windows Update Fix: KB4567512
I hope this helps the ctd-ppl and tell me if this worked for ya
