One aspect of Deep Dungeon that can feel unpleasant is the indoor nature of the play area. I think there is an opportunity to have a Deep Dungeon that stands out amongst the rest by largely taking place in outdoor areas such as forests, crevasses, and outdoor ruins.
Elements of gameplay that could be novel in a future Deep Dungeon include:
- shrines/objects that give randomized buffs
- Objects that can be attacked to drop items or trigger events
- traps that telegraph attacks, which can be deactivated by interacting with an object.
As an aside, I would like to also mention that the Minotaur is the greatest fantasy creature. As Deep Dungeon shares many similarities with a labyrinth, I believe it is appropriate for the Minotaur to be a staple figure now, until the end of time.
