Currently pressing "sprint" toggles the function. This has always felt a bit weird since there are few occasions when you want to turn sprint off, and in any case you do so naturally by using other skills.
With button response being miserable since 7.1, one frequently has to jab repeatedly at buttons to activate them. In the specific case of sprint, it's therefore possible to turn it on and off when wanting it on.
This can be rectified by any pressing of sprint either turning it on or leaving it in the "on" position.
