I use the setting which toggles the cross hotbar automatically based on whether or not my primary is drawn. It's definitely convenient for battle classes because I have it set up so that the game automatically switches from my shared hotbars to my job hotbars rather than doing it manually.
However, with DoH and DoL classes, you aren't drawing and sheathing your primary all the time. My suggestion is to add an option to automatically change hotbars when beginning a crafting recipe.
Obviously changing hotbars manually isn't a huge problem and there's nothing wrong with the current functionality. This is simply a suggestion for a small quality of life improvement.
