A friend and I were talking about AST's cards, and he came up with a pretty good suggestion:
Keep: Arrow (haste), Spear (critical hit), Ewer (MP), Bole (defence),
Get rid of: Balance (DPS) as a card but not as a mechanism
Change: Spire (from TP to maybe HP as an additional "defence-type" card? Or something)
Using the other cards (Arrow/Spear/etc.) would collect Seals, which would then proc Divination. Instead of having a balance card, Divination could be the new "balance." That way, we still get our varied cards + RNG + the ability use (or save for some players) "balance" for things like DPS checks. That way, it encourages players to use all the cards without forsaking Balance for the Balance fishers.
For Lord & Lady, I think they should go back to being a nonGCD DPS and a nonGCD heal move. Kind of act like procs not unlike Bard's Refulgant(sp) Arrow. That way, it spices up our DPS rotation a little bit or (depending on RNG) gives us an additional healing nonGCD to utilise.
Not everyone would like said suggestion, I know. I doubt SE would ever consider it anyway. But, I thought it was a fair compromise to combine both the new and the old into a more interesting gameplay.
