Suggestion: Airships As Player Housing.

Airships of varying sizes and styles but in general nothing quite so varied as houses are able to be set up now. so maybe 3 sizes and 3-4 styles to choose from for each and then color options for certain parts (sails, hull, trim, ect) so basically 12 different ship models that may use varying textures.

also, i imagine these as apartment alternatives rather than estates. so in general most of us would be forced to make the choice between a garden bed and a chocobo stable with these unless our FC has stables.

as for the sizes
small: 1 apartment sized room or a bit larger. 100 to 150 indoor items with some small outdoor space on deck (10 items maybe) plus the choice of setting up a special area as a chocobo stable or a raised bed garden patch but not both. so not really on par with a cottage but more options than a simple apartment.

medium: inside is cottage sized with the addition of an apartment sized room.
250 items indoors, 15 outdoor (or deck specific) items. 1 garden patch area and 1 chocobo stable
a slight step up from a cottage house.

large: same area inside as a medium sized house. maybe something like 3 apartment sized rooms + a some space on the deck for outdoor space... 20 outdoor/deck specific items and 2 areas that and be configured as either garden patches or a chocobo stable.

i don't imagine any of these to be big enough to house a FC with 512 private rooms.

if you want to do something for free companies i think it'd be nice to enable them to buy a floating island to put docks on. maybe with an optional housing plot.

on another note i think it'd be great to allow characters who wish to enable guest access to their airship to register their ship at a housing area dock and their FC's dock. so one ship per character but guest access from two possible places. otherwise it doesn't need to be listed anywhere than a characters own teleport list.

a airship dock housing area where you can see other player's ships like this shouldn't be as resource heavy as a normal housing area especially if outdoor furnishings someone places on deck aren't loaded until a player actually enters (and thus loads the actual airship). an open deck could also be generally obscured by having to climb a ladder or go up a walkway or having the main entrance be entrance on the side. it'd be loading predefined templates for each ship rather than actual customized ships. reusing the ward listing window for docks would likely work out well to access the docks purchased by players to hold their airship.
