Strategy: Apollyon NW, BLM Style

Since Limbus doesn't really happen anymore with the LS and the fact that a couple people have asked how to do this Limbus as BLM's, I though i'd post what Trewgle and I do. There is another guide on KI that someone wrote, but he left out some important info. If you plan on trying this Limbus, i suggest you do it as a BLM duo. It will make things A LOT easier and will go smoother.

Things to bring with you!
  • MP Drinks - Bring a ton with you, it's always good to have some type of MP regen incase things head for the worst.
  • Remedies - Some bosses have plague moves which are very bad since you can't rest, so it's a very good idea to carry 3~5 with you just incase you get plagued
  • Wizard Cookies - MP Regen is very important during this. Sure you could eat food that gives you +INT and +MP, but most of the time you'll be resting and it's important to get MP quickly so that you stay on time.
  • Reraise Items - It's never fun to HP and things can always get out of hand quickly, so make sure to bring some RR items.
Apollyon NW Goal

The goal for this Limbus is to get to the last two floors, where the monsters drop coins 100% of the time. Wyverns each drop 2 coins each and Behemoths drop 5~6 coins each. This Limbus area can net 32~38+ coins depending on how many coins drop from monsters and what treasure chest you get.

First Floor

The first floor is all undead. Ghosts as the normal mosters and an Undead skin(?) is boss. The ghost are weak to everything besides ice and are very easy to sleep. The boss however is weak to everything, so ice works perfectly fine on him. Bind, Stun, Gravity all work on Pluto expect Sleep which he resists. This is probbly the worst floor out of all them, just due to the fact that the ghost have very high HP and resist nukes somewhat.

The idea is to kill ghosts until the portal opens. While fighting the boss isn't required to gain access to the next floor, he does drop the treasure chest and is fairly easy. Once the portal is open, procced to the next floor and sleep any aggro you might get while running to it.

Boss: If you decide to fight Pluto, he does somewhat nasty AoE moves which include AoE INT Down, AoE VIT Down, Plague and also has En-Para. Also hits for 250~300, so keep gravity on him.

Second Floor

The second floor is made up of Bufflo and a Ram for the boss. Bascily the same idea as the first floor. Kill bufflo till the portal opens. Be aware that the bufflo run fast, hit hard and also do a powerful plague move that drains MP/TP, same one Tiamat uses. The bufflo don't resist anything so keep gravity on them and bind/sleep for buffing when needed.

Boss: Zlatorog, the ram NM boss uses a 2h which is Mighty Strikes. My suggestion is to sleep it every time it 2h's for about 15~20 seconds. Reason is that he can hit up to 450~ and double attacks often. Very easy to be taken out by a double attack crit. even with stoneskin up. As far as i can tell, the boss uses normal ram TP moves which includes petra breath! So be on the look out for this and try to move out of the way if he does use it.

Third Floor

The third floor is made up of Bugards, which have very low HP and can be taken out with about 4 nukes. Yet again, the goal for this floor is the same as the first and second floor, kill Bugards till the portal opens and then head to the 4th floor.

Boss: Millenary Mossback, bascily the same as Aspidochelone. Skip the boss.

Forth Floor

Finally we get to a floor where we want to kill everything, expect for the boss. Each of these wyverns drop 2 coins each. They don't resist anything. Make sure to keep gravity on them because just like normal ones, they run fast and hit hard. Also, when runing around this floor, watch out for the boss, it likes to move around a lot and change directions suddenly.

Boss: Cynoprosopi, basicly Nidhogg. Skip the boss.

Fifth Floor

The fifth and final floor, the money floor. The floor is made up of 3 normal behemoths with a king running around. Be aware that they can all link with each other, so be sure that there are some distance between them while pulling one.

Notice: Behemoth are EXTREMELY resistant to Bind, Sleep and Stun. Even with ES you can still be resisted. They also have Triple Attack which can take you down very fast. When fighting these, do not depend on bind, sleep or stun. Just make sure to keep gravity on and to keep your distance when nuking. These usually die with Thunder4 > Thunderga 3 > Blizzard 4 x2 ( This is why 2 BLM's make this area a whole lot easier :) )

Boss: Kaiser Behemoth, Basicly King Behemoth. Skip the boss.

I will most likely update this later to add info that i might have forgotten or over looked. If you have any questions about this feel free to ask. If you do decide to try this, good luck!

I dont know what hapend with the LS Limbus. I guess people get more out of it if thay just solo it. I wuld like to see LS Limbus hapen again to.

The behemoths aren't resistant to bind. I think I used bind to keep them at bay the one time when our luck hit the dirt and I solo'd one.

me and dar tried once as rdm and blm, didn't do so hot, but we did a buncha shit wrong lol ;x

This Limbus does have quite a bit of luck invovled.

We've had times when we finished the last floor with 25+mins to spare having cleared the bosses Lostsoul stated to do, and we've had times when we skipped bosses and still ran out of time simply due to not getting the portal to open w/in the first few kills.
