I've been experiencing a peculiar sound issue for some time. I have no idea what specifically causes it, but it happens.
I have a dual monitor set-up, I play FFXIV on one and on the other monitor I have my browser, discord, etc.
Occasionally, when I switch from Monitor 1 (Playing FFXIV) to Monitor 2 (Everything else) my sound on things briefly cuts out for a few seconds. Another odd issue is; say I play a video on youtube or social media. The video plays, but there's no sound. EXCEPT I hear the sounds from final fantasy 14 as if the volume was increased significantly. Suddenly I'm hearing very loud footsteps, very loud ambient noise, very loud... everything.
It only will return to normal if I stop the video or source of sound. When this issue happens, any other video or sound I try to play causes the game sounds to play through and come out louder. I'll attach a youtube link for the sound issue to give a better indication of what I'm meaning.
I've installed different sound drivers, messed with sound settings, and ran different troubleshooting software. I cannot for the life of me figure out why this is happening.
