I've been seeing posts everywhere about 5.4 and Fandaniel, and for some reason people keep discussing him as if he's guaranteed to be the 6.0 villain. I guess I just... don't really see it? I mean, think about it. First off, as of 5.4 he has no reasonable motivations (that will most likely change, but still). However the main reason I have a feeling he won't make it to 6.0 is because of trends from the previous expansions. Since ARR, every expansion has introduced a new character that is a strong candidate for being the next big bad. And every time, said character is foiled in some way, ending their presence in time for the expansion release. 2.X introduces us to Teledji and his plans to awaken Omega, and just before HW dropped he gets killed by Raubahn. In 3.X, we're introduced to Ardbert and the Warriors of Darkness, who have supposedly joined forces with the Ascians in an effort to stop us, and just before SB drops, they are sent back to the First by Minfilia. And in 4.X, we finally get to meet the Garlean Emperor himself, but before we can deal with him we are called to the First by G'raha Tia. So I have a feeling that our boy Fandaniel, being the new bad guy introduced in 5.X, won't survive that much longer. or if he does he will at least be subdued for the duration of 6.0. Does anyone else feel the same way?
