Hi, just started Shadowbringers and have been enjoying the First so far, but I am confused about the existence of skywatchers in this world.
If, for all we know, the Everlasting Light is... everlasting, what purpose do the skywatchers serve? When you talk to them, even they seem kind of struck that you would ask them.
"Have you not seen the sky? Today, tomorrow, and every day henceforth will be plagued by everlasting light."
I'm sure at some point something happens to where there IS a weather cycle, but, lorewise, why do skywatchers exist here after a century of everlasting light?
