This is my first reddit post and I'm not quite sure how to tag this with a spoiler tag. I'm typing this on my phone in bed so forgive me for any grammatical and format errors. Oh and this is just going to be my rambling thoughts on the whole matter so sorry if this structured adequately.
Ok technically I just finished the 2nd to last quest but it's the one with almost 1 hour cutscene. But oh man, I was not expecting the banquet to go down like this. I thought it was have some rousing, celebratory speech and maybe some pretty drama with Aymeric and Ishgard but nooooooooo, blood was spilled and shit went down.
First thing off, Nanamo DIED?!?! Initially I didn't think too much about her abdicating the throne and Ul'dah becoming a republic but I was like Ok more plot to go through in Heavensward. But man, the moment I saw her drinking the wine but I was like o shit. I just started giggling and smiling throughout the entire ride. Dont take it as me being glad she's dead though, I'm just in shock of what's happening.
When Adeledji walks in with his posse and accuses me of assassinating her, i just about lost it when my charcter frowns and shakes his head. For frame of reference, imagine a small lalafell with a sailor glamour sitting in a palace being cute and shit just shaking his head like he just got told off. What the hell man
So he and his cronies hobbled over to where everyone's at and starts accusing the scions for regicide and it wasn't exactly going too well. Fine, but the Adeledji pisses off Raubahn and he straight up dices Adeledji. Holy shit. The surpises keeps on coming. I thought he'll get taken out in HW, not literally 10 min afterwards.
And Ilberd man. What the fuck bro. I thought Ilberd and Yuyuhase were cool with the scions and all. I knew the crystal Braves had some corruption and traitors but not to this extent. Yknow only a couple bad apples willing to do some shady shit with the right amount of money but it seemed like almost everyone was against Alphinaud's vision of the crystal Braves. Man I got bamboozled so hard with Ilberd that I even start justifying that Ilberd was simply mislead by Adeledji. That he was simply too new to put his trust in WoL as should've. But no. He's just a plain ol' asshat. Fuck him.
And oh yeah, when of fucking course the vial I picked up from literally the previous mission was the very poison that killed Nanamo.
Can I just say that I grew much more attached to the cast in the last hour than i did through ARR. I never felt anything in the entirety of 2.0 other than maybe a chuckle at Lahabrea/thancred reveal. The entire escape with all the members being left behind. Like I knew they all survive in the end (right?) cuz I've seen the trust system in Shadowbringers and of course the cinematics, but still man it was awesome seeing them all charged all up and ready to beat some hoes.
And boom we out this bitch. Meet up with Alphinaud and we're headed onto Ishguard. I dont know what to think about Alfonaud tbh. He seems like a guy that is maybe a bit too optimistic about the future of Eorzea but is legit more of a leader that Minfilia. I assume HW is based around Ishguard?
Just gotta give props Yoshi P and his team for this. And this isn't even HW yet. I'm so excited to continuing msq. Man I dont know why I delayed slogging through msq for so long. Atleast I got my beast tribe down.
Thanks for reading through this mess. I'm just happy to go through this trip with you guys. It's super late at night and I gotta sleep so I'll probably edit this tomarrow for any mistakes but god damn that was a fun ride to witness.
