Sorry if this has already been posted.
In the scenes where the key is shown on the map, the key switches from Aerslaent (before the conversation with Wuk and Erenville) to Vylbrand (after).
Comparison:
Both of these locations are tied to a bit of Roegadyn lore. While there isn't much information about that, it's either on purpose or a funny coincidence.
There is a small amount of information on these two sites:
"Aerslaent is the homeland of the Roegadyn race located in the Northern Empty. While the most populous Roegadyn clan, the Sea Wolves left Aerslaent early in the Sixth Astral Era to later found Limsa Lominsa, other Roegadyn clans left their ancestral lands at various points, including those who became the Hellsguard."

"In year 874 of the Sixth Astral Era, a group of Roegadyn--ancestors to the modern-day Sea Wolves-- set sail from Aerslant aboard a ship called the Galadion. This splinter tribe, who would one day be partially responsible for the founding of Limsa Lominsa, was "the last of a mighty armada" now fleeing retribution after taking part in an unsuccessful rebellion against the ruling "tyrant" kings. With their ship damaged and their enemies ruling the shoreline, they turned the Galadion southward in search of a new home."
