This game is amazing. I started playing between patch 2.1 and 2.2 and played almost daily up until 2020 right before patch 5.1 due to real life stuff.
About 2 months ago, I picked up the game again and got started on the 5.1 quests and am currently in Endwalker now at level 87 6.0 quests. I recently arrived in Elpis (it's soooo beautiful there!) and met with Emet-Selch and Hythlodeus in their Ancient form.
After doing some quests with them and Hermes (it's so weird to see this side of him, knowing he's Fandaniel in the current timeline and completely crazy), I finally met with Venat in person, who is Hydalyn!
The story of ARR, HW and SB were great but ShB and EW so far are just on another level to me. We are finding out who the ascians are, who Hydalyn is/was, who Zodiark is/was and even who we are! It's not just liberating countries (as great as that was).
This game and it's stories are just sooooo amazingly well done and it just makes me so excited for the rest of EW, starting DT and then everything to come in the future! I hope at least a few others are having as much fun as I am.
