So.. During the WFH and lockdown period, i decided to spend my 'free time' in a time sink content named Eureka.
I did this content when it was released during 4.25, reached EL 2 and left it because i spent nearly two hours just to increase one level. Now, i've got nothing truly interest me to do, so i decide to try Eureka, again. On the other side, I really want that shiny Elemental Armor and the Caladbolg Anemos as my weapon glamour.
I follow the catch-up guide, use the Kirin Osode of Fending (i am a tank), buy some Potion of Harmony, and focus on just doing challenge log. I spent almost two weeks for now and i already in Pyros at EL 43, collecting logograms and pyros crystal. I drawn at Eureka content, i never realize that doing 'old-style mmorpg' gameplay would be that fun. Spawning NM together, raise dead Eureka adventurer, and even chatting using /say, /shout, or /party outside my FC and linkshells. OMG.
I also made some friends during my venture inside Eureka and the amount of good people in Eureka is always amazed me. There was time where I dead in an area with monster +5 level than me, surrounding me. I think i'm gonna lose some exp back then, but group of 5 maxed EL come there just to raise me.
I also find that the map is beautiful and extremely well designed. Anemos is beautiful, at one time i even spent 15 minutes just sit at some corner and enjoy the wind blow. I love the NM battle music, so cool. I prefer the NM battle music rather than the current ShB battle music. Pagos is not as boring as the coerthas map (sorry if i offense anyone, i just find coerthas maps are boring), i like how they use the drop mechanism to open pathway to other side. Pyros is also beautiful and mindblowing.
The enemy feel threatening and even i love when they put some enemy like the dragons (who sleeping all day, but will wake up if you run near them), the sight-induced monster (it feel like playing metal gear around them), and the bloodthirsty one (it will agrro only if you have low health). The death feel punishing, exp lost is painful.
The NM battle is interesting, it is way better than even S rank monster battle in overworld and way better than any high level fate.
I know that Eureka was bad when first released, but experiencing it now is far far different. I enjoy it.
I play in Tonberry and even in the morning there is 30-40 players online in any instance. During the prime time, there could be more than 100 people playing in any instance.
Have any of you try Eureka nowadays? How do you feel?
