So imagine for a moment if, instead of the silent protagonist Warrior of Light going around and doing Job Quests where they help someone become an exemplar of their class, those folks instead had their own journeys of self-discovery that they go on together as a crew? Like a mix between a classical Final Fantasy and Octopath Traveler?
For example, consider Limsa Lominsa. Scholars, Summoners, Warriors, and Ninja get their job quests here (even if the questgivers themselves might end up being outside Limsa eventually).
So through some circumstance, these characters end up being brought together. Gorge's quest to understand the rage inside him might resonate with the rancor of the Tonberries in the Wanderer's Palace, where Alka Zolka's investigation into the "green death" leads. Moreover, the reason why Alka Zolka is first found in the Marauder's Guild hall is specifically to convince the guild to support his efforts to put tacticians on the field alongside marauders to boost their effectiveness, so making a deal to work with Gorge would serve both their interests. Y'mhitra and Oboro are both hunting traitors who (conceivably) might be linked together, given the relationship between Garlemald and the Ascians.
This doesn't work exceptionally well in every circumstance: you have to do some gymnastics to have A-Ruhn-Senna (from the WHM chain) and Eschiva (the Lancer NPC from the WHM chain) team up with Jehantel (from the BRD chain), and then just have Eschiva be the one who does the DRG chain (since Estinien and Alberic can't really come out of it). In Ul'dah, Widargelt is clearly your MNK, but who do you pull for PLD? Jenlyns? And for Black Mage do you just promote Cocobusi from the Thaumaturge chain and just handwave his whole problems with shaping aether?
The point here is to just imagine a circumstance where these characters all have opportunities to interact with EACH OTHER and play a role in each others' stories, rather than all of them interfacing individually with the Warrior of Light.
Oh, and as a side note: as of the beginning of ShB, the Eorzean capitals have all been the starting locations for job quest chains at least once; Gridania starts WHM/BRD/DRG and later gets GNB, Limsa gets WAR/SCH/SMN/NIN and later gets DNC, Ul'dah gets MNK/BLM/PLD and later gets SAM and RDM, while Ishgard has only had one round of DRK/AST/MCH.
More a neat piece of trivia than any attempt to predict where 6.0's new job(s) will start, but just something I noticed.
So does anyone else this would be an interesting thought experiment?

- (WAR) Curious Gorge wants to tame his inner beast so that he can teach others the Warrior's Way.
- (SCH) Alka Zolka wants to demonstrate the value of Nymian scholars in combat as tacticians.
- (SMN) Y'mhitra discovers a rogue summoner supported by the Ascians who wants to destroy everything.
- (NIN) Oboro is tasked with tracking down a traitor within his order, whom he knows is in Eorzea working for Garlemald.
