Some Ideas / Hopes For Dnc Changes

Time for some armchair development. The first two are just QoL changes, while the latter two are skills I think would be neat to see


Make "Closed Position" castable on yourself as long as you're not in a party

- Basically just allow you to double dip on your damage buffs in order to bump up the job's performance while soloing stuff


A trait that passively generates a feather every X seconds while in combat

- Bad luck protection to make the lows inherent to such a proc-heavy playstyle a little less severe


Dance-off

- Challenge your target to a round off dance dance revolution (no, seriously), which, if successful, boosts the damage you and your dance partner deal to them.

- When used, a set of 4 colored circles appear on the ground around you and you're given a sequence of 4 colors (like Technical Step). Step on the circles in the right order, re-used the skill and tadaa, the target gets the debuff. Unlike the steps, this does not prevent you from executing your other weapon skills, so you can continue DPSing while DDR-ing.


Final Step

- A burst CD that costs 50 Esprit

- When used, the restrictions on your Flourish skills is lifted for your next 6 GCDs and you're given a sequence of 6 colors (consisting of green, yellow, white and purple). Executing the corresponding Flourish skills in that order upgrades your next Saber Dance to cost no Esprit and perform a series of 9 rapid attacks with 100 potency each.


I dunno if this is leaning a bit too hard into the "Simon says" gimmick, but IMO the concepts for both of these skills makes a lot of sense for the job. If nothing else, I'll be genuinely surprised if the theme of "dancing with your enemy" doesn't make it in in SOME form.
