So... Why Did Yugiri Hide Her Face?

I don't really get it. Was it only to hide the looks of a not yet introduced race at the time? Her face reveal felt so... off. Like she didn't care at all, and never wore the veil ever again. Is it just a little "meh" point for her character arc, or did I miss something?
