I'm aware that this post might be edgy/cringy, but i don't care. We need to bring back Gunbreaker to former glory by all means necessary.
Dev team clearly wants to ruin the job on purpose, so our current situation is problematic, but not helpless. I know that there are some people who like new sound effects, yet they are minority, this poll is a proof of that http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...for-GNB-Sounds, and sword objectively shouldn't sound like a club. No way to deny this.
We need to keep up the pressure. Talk about it everywhere you can, keep topics on official forum alive, send them in-game suggestions. Don't let the flame die out.
But this is not enough as you see. They had more than enough time to do it peacefully. Now we need to use less conventional methods.
It's time to move on Twitter. I suggest #fixGNBsfx. We need to tweet to all accounts related to FFXIV - official twitter, devs accounts etc. Comment under all their tweets. We need to overwhelm them. But be civil. If you don't want to use your main account create new one. If Twitter asks you for phone verification, mail them that you are not a bot, they will let you pass. If you get blocked, create new account.
I don't deny it's childish, but they are also childish and unprofessional.
We need to show them that we are tired of their methods, aka "Ignore feedback for two years and maybe fix it later". Line has been crossed here. They are not going to get away with that one.
We need to annoy them to the point they will finally listen, because the only way to get rid of us is to simply properly fix GNB sfx or revert the changes, which is a win in both situations.
And we are not stopping until we get what we want. What all other self-respecting dev studios would already do.
If you give up now it's over, and GNB is lost. You will not only have devs to blame, but also yourselves. They wait for you to get bored and give up. Do not give them that satisfaction.
Hope is not yet lost, we can do this, but we need to do this together. I'm not giving up, but alone my efforts won't change anything.
And to everyone who will say "Not everything has to go your way, just accept it" - if they would change Warrior sfx to dagger or Ninja sfx to maces would you also say it's not a big deal? Because here they changed Gunblade sound effects to club. This abomination cannot be accepted, and i will never accept it. Majority demands changes.
