Often when I go into a cutscene or changing maps of any locations (both new and old maps), an error will occur causing the game to quit immediately. The error is shown below as an image.
This error happens in two ways:
1. The error disappears immediately and the game just quits.
2. The error prompted up and stays there, displaying an error box similar to the image above.
This error also occurred in all characters that I currently have. Currently, my main character is in "the Empty", and therefore is causing the game to crash immediately after the character selection (where the map is loading).
I have tried the following:
1. Reinstalling the game
2. Updating windows to the latest version
3. Close all programs that may be related to FFXIV.
4. Changing the launcher to the old one, and back to the new one.
5. Switching between DX9 and DX11.
6. Turn off "Fullscreen Optimization".
7. Removing any unnecessary USB or audio devices.
The game is in an external SSD. I am unable to install the game into the computer's storage, as I do not have enough space in the computer.
