With the new patch coming and a Live Letter that mentioned AST quality of life updates I immediately starting hoping that they would address Fairy Ability Ghosting Issues on Scholar too. We'll have to wait for the official patch notes to see if anything changes but this line of thinking led me to wonder if Fey Blessing would get buffed as it feels overly restricted with it's 60 second cool down/Fey Guage cost while being practically useless due to its low healing potency. The ability just doesn't seem to warrant being an oGCD action and that's why it occurred to me that it was probably never intended as such. We have a new issue in this expansion where Lily will double cast abilities for no reason. Most often I see Whispering Dawn go off twice in rapid succession and I have a sneaking suspicion this is because Fey Blessing was meant to be a Trait. It's not hard to believe that Lily was coded to automatically use Fey Blessing after being commanded to use a Pet Action for a small surge of additional healing. The 60 second cool down that aligns with Whispering Dawn perfectly and Minor Fey Gauge cost suddenly makes sense. If Fey Blessing just happened as an extra benefit for using a Pet Action it would definitely feel more rewarding than the burden it feels like now to fit into a weave window. I feel like a hasty decision to make Fey Blessing a stand alone ability is why we have the fairy double casting issue and also Fey Blessing's ridiculous and unnecessary addition to our healing kit. Healers as a role feel like they got the least design time out of all jobs and Fey Blessing seems like an especially rushed attempt to give Scholar one more ability to meet the requirement for the release. Maybe something else more substantial was planned as the level 76 ability that didn't pan out but that's my theory.
