I've been thinking of ways to improve the queue times for roulettes and I think I've come to a satisfactory conclusion to benefit pretty much every member of FFXIV's great community.
My proposal is that a conscription service is implemented, the mandatory sort that randomly summons players not currently running content into a random duty to help alleviate the shortage of tanks, healers and - rarely - DPS.
So let's say my character is running about the verdant meadows of La Noscea. Suddenly a conscription message flashes on my screen and my character is summoned into the Odin trial.
If I complete the duty, I earn a bonus to gil, tomestone and other currency for the rest of the week. If I decline the conscription then I am locked out of rewards until the next reset occurs. I think this would go a long way towards encouraging engagement with content, reduce queue times and help players polish up their skills.
