Basically as the title says, I've recently been replaying through the MSQ on an alt (I started before the quests got condensed in ARR) and like with re-reading a favourite book series and knowing that there are twists coming I've found I've been able to see what leads to various events in the post ARR quests and in HW (I've only just got to Moghome in HW.) It's also been interesting seeing which parts I had forgotten about due to me not having played through those quests in a while, there's stuff you miss if you just rewatch the cutscenes in the inn rooms.
Also as a slightly humourous aside, my alt is a max height female Au Ra and she is just barely taller than Alphinaud so with the mostly Elezan populace of Ishgard she's probably going to get a neck strain.
