I'd like to preface by saying that I don't post much on these forums and apologize deeply if this is in the wrong place.
A member of our community passed away this Wednesday while he slept: Borf Borfikins. Most of you have likely never met him, had the opportunity to know him for the good man he was. On the off chance, however, that he had friends or supporters outside of our Free Company, I wanted to make sure that they were notified.
On Wednesday, July 1st at 9pm EST, I intend to host a simple Remembrance Walk in his honor and to say goodbye. I've seen similar things done on other data centers and in other games, and I think it is an appropriate way to remember a man who has followed my wife and me loyally from MMO to MMO for over a decade. Any and all are welcome to attend, to show their love and support for a member of our online community. All that I ask is that you respect the spirit of what I am trying to do.
My Free Company and I will gather outside of Carline Canopy in Gridania, just north of Blue Badger Gate, on the night of the memorial. If there are any questions, you are welcome to message me in-game assuming I am on and not attending to family matters.
Lastly, until his house is removed by the game a message book will be left outside his house (Goblet, Ward 15, Plot 47) for anyone who would like to leave a message.
