Recording sounds/voices/etc.

What's a good program for recording sounds/voices and converting them into .WAVs or whatever? Does Adobe Premiere do this? (I think I still have the mirror image for that program from Byrdman's Trojanmen FTP site somewhere but am not sure how to turn it into a burned CD)

Not sure about what you want but what I used to use was Acoustica Sound Mixer (http://www.acoustica.com/mp3-audio-mixer/), it's been ages since I've sued it though so I forget exactly what it can do.

Goldwave seems easy and works good if you wanna edit some .wav files
