So i'm a couple days in after purchasing the Complete Edition, and I am so happy I gave FF 14 a chance. All these years I've been missing out on this beautiful game that seems almost tailor made to my every mmorpg wants and needs. My decision to not try it until now, was solely based on the fact I've found it difficult to get into FF games in the past no matter how engaging I found the story.
I'm a player coming from ESO, which is a game I do like, but for some reason after playing for so many years still don't feel 'connected' to the world and my character. I don't know what it is about FF 14 but I instantly felt and home and felt genuine connection with the people of Eorzea.
I've been watching many vids on YT trying to find any hints and tips that will make my playthrough, not easier, but smoother as there looks to be many things that could be easily missed for noobs.
I'm on PS4 Pro and using keyboard and mouse for the first time, i'm playing in 1080p60 and loving how smooth and how easy to access everything is to access. Coming from controller I spent up until yesterday trying to click every enemy/npc to target them, until I realized that there are some very useful tab/cycle target buttons to get used to lol I felt like such an idiot. I only realized when I got to the first instanced dungeon and everyone was able to rush whoever they wanted, and I was agonizingly slowly trying to target the enemy with my mouse all over the screen... We all start somewhere haha but the mouse and keyboard just game me a little extra to figure out, i'll just search out some good bindings.
This is much longer than I was planning so the whole point of the post was to ask for a referral to some good English speaking Discord servers to help me make friends and make parties to take on the epic amount of content I have ahead of me. I'll be taking it slow i'm in no rush, I was fishing for about three hours straight last night lol. I'm at Level 21 Arcanist atm hoping to join a Gran Company shortly, my in game Username is Serenity Elixir and i'm hoping to be a Healer to begin with.
Any tips moving forward would be VERY appreciated and I hope see chat to some of you in Eorzea some time in the future, cheers and take care of yourselves out there!
