Rainbows Of Eorzea

The gardening community realized there was not much information regarding how rainbows spawn in the game so we decided to look into it a bit more! They've turned out to be quite a rare phenomenon but also fairly predictable as well. Some details still need ironed out but we've decided to document our findings alongs with some screenshots to share with the community.

You can track current observations on our Rainbow Spreadsheet. If you'd like to contribute please contact us on the Gardening Discord in the #rainbow-spotting channel. We use Skywatcher+ for tracking weather (except for Norvrandt we use in-game Skywatcher).

This is what we currently know about rainbows:

• Rainbows pop at 8:10 AM or 4:10 PM and last until 8:40 AM or 4:40 PM.
• They're typically seen after precipitation ended.
• They can appear during fair, clear, cloudy or dusty weather
• Precipitation can be showers, rain or thunderstorms (snow undetermined)
• There's no relation to any weather window other than following up on precipitation
• Graphic settings do not affect visibility
• You need to be in the zone when it appears. Changing zone will make it disappear.
• Seems to spawn across all Regions (NA & EU confirmed so far)
• Rainbows can spawn in major city-states (Gridania & Idyllshire confirmed)
• Rainbows spawn in both parts of major ARR city-states at the same time (only Gridania confirmed)
