So, this might (or might not) come as a surprise to many people, but after going back to the lab again, I’ve finally found the nail in the coffin to using TK within the MNK rotation. Long story short, I went back and did some more experimenting, taking out everything from FoF to TK in the TK opener and replaced it with the basic rotation, ending RoF with an LF Boot. The result? More potency overall about 25secs later (so a minute into the pull) and onward. Add in some Demo optimizations in the beginning and it does straight up more damage than the TK opener. Needless to say, I felt a mixture of disappointment and embarrassment, the former because I tried very hard to make TK work in the rotation (and ultimately failed) and the latter because of my public stance on it for the past half a year.
That said, I’m glad to have gained a better understanding of the class, having developed a new opener and even picked up some new (at least to me) optimizations in the process, which I’d like to share here.
So without further ado, here’s the R.I.P Tornado Kick. FF14 MNK Openers and Optimization Guide for 5.2!
I hope this helps people out and to all the people who checked out my TK rotation guide and tried it out with lackluster results, I’M SORRY!!!!!!!
