The description says "may grant unexpected effects" which has lead to a lot of speculation. I unintentionally stumbled onto one of these effects!
I used a Pure Essence on SAM during a normal run out of curiosity sake, and used the banner "Honored Sacrifice" which is normally:
But I noticed something odd. I thought maybe I had shields or it was a bug, but suddenly the buff was drastically improved by:
There has also been a report (though I cannot personally confirm) that:
Again, I personally haven't experienced this yet, but I thought it worth noting.
All of this does however have big implications for Delubrum Savage! As the progress on it has been quite grueling, the content is certainly no walk in the park, and using these hidden Pure Essence buffs will definitely be key to allowing smoother clears in the future.
Have you guys uncovered anything interesting with the Pure Essences? There's obviously -a lot- of testing to be done, but it is pretty exciting to see how they affect the Lost Actions so drastically!

I used a Pure Essence on SAM during a normal run out of curiosity sake, and used the banner "Honored Sacrifice" which is normally:
- 55% damage boost for 15s
- Deals 17-20k damage per tic on yourself while active.
But I noticed something odd. I thought maybe I had shields or it was a bug, but suddenly the buff was drastically improved by:
- Lasting 30s (DOUBLE the duration)
- Dealing only -1 DAMAGE- per tick.
There has also been a report (though I cannot personally confirm) that:
- Lost Cure IV adds an additional 1 minute Bravery buff if used under the Solemn Clairty banner and Pure Essence.
Again, I personally haven't experienced this yet, but I thought it worth noting.
