So, first things first, don't know if there was another thread on this, but I wasn't keen to go looking for one to necro, not with all the necroing going on now.
Second, I know this likely can't be answered, and that a likely response, "Nah, Prov Watcher ain't part of the First Brood man, he doesn't match any of the artwork."
So my question is, what are your thoughts on where it came from though? Having played through all of FFXI in the old days, I know what it's a reference too, but they specifically gave it an FFXIV Great Wyrm body rather than its own unique body from FFXI(which they could have easily done, given they lifted many other monsters directly from it).
A friend of mine referenced the Allagans and the dreadnaughts on the other side of Hydatos. I suppose it could have been an Allagan experiment put into stasis until awakened by the expedition team, but I'm just really curious to see if there's anything on it beyond supposition.
