Yeah, some stuff is starting to go tertiary, hence why you and I are on some of the items.

We died at 1% :(

Need to go over what to do in the last 20% portion of the fight. I will post a screen of attendance later.

im 2/3 leading against ultima and we beat him in 40 mins yesterday. more then willing to assist in planning for the fight. one loss was at 1%, go figure.

There's no real strategy in the last 20%, it's the most ridiculous portion of any fight in the game. The standard rules of hate do not apply. People NEED to have reraise items and keep them up. It is a huge drain to spend 150MP and casting time raising people. You just need to keep plugging away at the damage any way you can. At this point it's pretty much spamming a damage resistance shield, which is why a balance of melee and BLMs is important. Someone needs to call hate on CB, and everyone else needs to run away (around when it reaches 10 is pretty safe, earlier if you are grav'd). It can and does switch targets while it's counting down. If more than 1-2 (2 being when someone gets drawn in at the end) people are getting hit by CB, that is a MAJOR MAJOR problem.

Should a large number of people start to die for any reason, DoT must be put on as soon as possible, and mages need to communicate what is on and when it wears. If it regens 10% at that point, it's disastrous.

The first 80% should go fast enough so that you could literally kill it with pure DoT zombie tactics. I can't stress enough how important keeping reraise up is, for EVERYONE.

That was our big problem. After stunning 3 straight Dissipations, the last one at 20% knocked out most reraises. Then people either didn't see the countdown or party messages, or didn't know how far away to run (I think 2 people had never done the fight before). We had 8 deaths to that first Citadel Buster, and I don't think any had reraise on.

In spite of that, we mostly pulled everything together and nearly won. It was bad luck that magic shield was up so much, but if we hadn't had the mini-wipe, we wouldn't have needed luck.
